Change is inevitable, yet so often we try to fight it instead of transform with it. Meditations are one of our favorite ways to find moments of peace with ourselves as we learn to accept and adapt to the journey ahead.

There are so many health benefits to meditation, but these are just a few according to the Mayo Clinic: Building skills to manage your stress, making you more self-aware, focusing on the present, reducing negative feelings, helping you be more creative, helping you be more patient, lowering resting heart rate, lowering resting blood pressure, and even helping you sleep better.

We encourage you to find meditative moments for yourself and if you need some guidance, enjoy these 5 meditations written by Leeza to help you along the way.

Get in a comfortable position where you feel grounded. Then, take 2 deep breathes and pick the meditation you want to read aloud to yourself.

Dance of Life

In my dance of life, I may not know all the steps, but I am listening.  I am listening for the beat to change, so that I can adapt.  I am trusting that if the music is unfamiliar to me, and if partners don’t show up on the dance floor, I can dance anyway and the song will find its way to me.  I know that if I misstep or if I can’t quite hear the music, someone I love can play my song back to me.

Welcoming Change

I am moving forward; growing, opening, reaching.  The changes in me are welcome and right on schedule.  I know that because I am different, it may be hard for some to accept this new version of myself.  Their resistance is about their own fears and limits and is not disapproval of my transformation.  I will allow those who cannot support my growth, to experience their own discomfort, but I will not veer from my path of change.

Celebrating Change

I am changing.  My body is changing, my thoughts are, too.  I know that when I control my thoughts, I can control the way I feel and I want to feel positive and purposeful.  Today I will celebrate the changes that are occurring in my life.  Some of them are at my own will and volition and some are happening as evidence of my forward march in time.  I will focus on what I am gaining, not what I’m losing as my edges soften and the lines on my face present evidence that I am a master of change, moving boldly into the next chapter of my life.

Flexibility and Forgiveness

Flexibility and forgiveness will be at the forefront of the next act of my life. I will adapt and bend, so that I never break under the pressure of what is needed to navigate what is next. I will forgive myself and others for falling short of the goal, knowing effort is the prize. When I put in the effort, I am doing my best and my best is all I can offer.

A Path of Maximum Growth

My life has followed a path beautifully designed for my maximum growth.  Its obstacles and pain have arrived as teachers and mirrors; and the mountains in my way were just high enough to test my limits so I could appreciate the view on the other side.  I’m grateful for the ones that are still there so that I can learn to rely on others to help me over; teaching me the things I cannot learn on my own.  Today, I will open up and receive the support, love and wisdom that may be waiting from those who have journeyed just a little further down the road.
